idea behind the image is clear - birds are traditionally a symbol
for freedom, in the logo the "no-cost" aspect of freeware are
represented by the slashed coin and the wings - freeware is soaring
free in the air...
- Our
goal is to make the The Freeware Logo a universally recognizable
symbol for freeware programs and websites.
- Members
of the alt.comp.freeware (a.c.f.) group chose this image as their
favorite freeware symbol in December 2004
- The
Freeware Logo is not intended as an a.c.f. logo - websites and
programs who uses the logo do not have a "seal of approval" from the
newsgroup.
